Regular contributor Ed Goodridge was intrigued by this colourful coach he spotted in a field near Totnes a few weeks ago. The coach had been preserved in the livery of Cosy Coaches of Parkstone near Poole, but had passed from them to Taw & Torridge in Okehampton. After several years with Taw & Torridge it joined the classic vehicle collection of the late Ron Greet and had been put up for auction. It is not known if it was still in the collection when seen or with a new owner. It was in the company of what looked like another Bedford/Plaxton, a smaller Embassy bodied coach in poorer health and the livery of North Wales Classic Tours and a classic Atkinson recovery truck. Cosy Coaches is no more, founded by Herbert Rendell in the 1920s from 1973 it operated the well known "Rossmore Flyer" but financial troubles closed the company in 1983. The route, also known as the "Monkey's Hump & Heavenly Bottom Express" is now route 7/7A of Damory Coaches.
